Heartfly
Honest comparison

Heartfly vs Cronitor: a fair comparison

Cronitor is a polished cron-monitor with metrics dashboards. Heartfly is a leaner alternative focused on heartbeat checks and instant alerts.

TL;DR
  • · Cronitor has been around since 2014. Strong metrics dashboards, telemetry endpoints, app-uptime monitoring layered on top of cron.
  • · Heartfly is a focused take: heartbeat in, alert out, and you can see when the last ping came and what's overdue. Less dashboard, lower cost.
  • · If you want metrics + uptime + cron in one tool, Cronitor is broader. If you just want cron heartbeats with great alerts, Heartfly is leaner.

When you should pick which

Pick Cronitor if…
  • · You want one tool for cron + uptime + custom metrics (dashboards on top of telemetry pings).
  • · You're already invested in their integration ecosystem (Datadog, Grafana exporters).
  • · You need named enterprise references and a long product track record.
Pick Heartfly if…
  • · You only need cron monitoring and want a focused tool that doesn't bloat into uptime/metrics.
  • · Your team uses Telegram for ops alerts and you want a native experience.
  • · You want a clean monthly bill that doesn't scale per-monitor.

Pricing math

Cronitor free: 5 monitors. Heartfly free has comparable limits.

Cronitor paid: Starts around $49/mo for ~50 monitors plus extras. Heartfly paid is flat at lower price for cron-only.

The take: If you want bundled uptime + metrics, Cronitor's price is justified. If you only need cron, you're paying for unused features.

Try Heartfly free

Cron monitoring focused. No uptime engine, no metrics platform, just heartbeats and alerts.

FAQ

Does Heartfly do uptime monitoring like Cronitor?

No. Uptime is our sister product Tickr. We deliberately keep Heartfly to cron heartbeats.

Can I export Cronitor monitor configs and import to Heartfly?

We have a migration script that reads Cronitor's API and creates equivalent Heartfly checks. Email support if you want to use it.

Does Heartfly support telemetry pings (success metrics, run duration)?

We capture run duration and exit status with the ping. We don't have full metric histogram dashboards like Cronitor — that's their territory.

What's the alert latency?

Heartfly alerts within 60 seconds of a missed expected ping (configurable grace). Same SLA as the major competitors.
